Waterways Recreation is a youth-focused, Indigenous-led non-profit organization who partners with Indigenous communities, agencies, and partners to deliver canoe programs, which promote wellness and culturally relevant recreation to Indigenous youth across Manitoba.

Fundraising Assistant Job Description
(Student/ Under 30 Position)
The Fundraising Assistant will be identifying opportunities for fundraising, and then planning and executing these opportunities. You will collaborate with and report to the Fundraising Director of Waterways to determine the needs of the organization, plan fundraising events and campaigns. You will also be working with the Fundraising Director to develop relationships with fundraising partners where possible.
There may be other administrative tasks which may be asked of the employee. These could include things such as writing material for our website or social media posts.
Fundraising Assistant Responsibilities:
Researching, planning, and executing fundraising campaigns and events.
Creating sponsorship packages for fundraising partners
Creating promotional materials for campaigns (collaborating with the Communications Coordinator)
Recruiting and working with volunteers as needed to execute fundraising events.
Other administrative tasks as needed.
Fundraising Assistant Requirements:
Some post-secondary coursework in rhetoric/communications or similar field
Previous fundraising experience
Knowledge of project planning an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Drive
Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while working remotely
This is a contract position beginning in June/July 2022 and ending in September 2022 (possibility for earlier start date for training)
