Waterways Recreation is a youth-focused, Indigenous-led non-profit organization who partners with Indigenous communities, agencies, and partners to deliver canoe programs, which promote wellness and culturally relevant recreation to Indigenous youth across Manitoba.

Systems Administrator Job Description

(Student/ Under 30 position)

The Systems Administrator will focus on managing and updating our website and overseeing our data collection and management. This would include creating comprehensive and cohesive writing material for the website.

You will collaborate with and report to the HR Director of Waterways to optimize our data management process and complete a report on the participation data for the end of the year.

As well as the tasks mentioned above, there may be other administrative tasks which may be asked of the employee. These could include things such as managing our social media, creation of written materials and grant writing.


Systems Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Waterways website.

  • Creating and reviewing written material for the website.

  • Create and oversee a participation information database

  • Collect and input participant data into database

  • Maintain organization and clean data in CRM


Systems Administrator Requirements:

  • Some university courses in computer science or a related field OR comparable experience.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Drive and database management software

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Strong people skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.



This is a contract position beginning in April 2022 and ending in September 2022
